Mae Sews Compulsively for Project Run and Play

Hello! I'm Mae, the one woman show behind the blog "The Life Of A Compulsive Crafter." I've always been driven by my creative side whether it was making clothes, cards, music, whatever! My blog focuses on my not so small sewing habit. I compulsively make children's clothing (and sometimes something for myself) all while homeschooling my mini's. I initially met Maegen through Instagram where I swooned over photos of her homeschooling her son.

Project Run and Play definitely holds a special place in my heart. It was one of the first challenges I followed as a seamstress& I've been coming back each season to sew along since then. Each season my skills have increased and my garments look more polished & professional. Plus, it's really fun to look back at past challenges. Today I was asked to pick my favorite garment from a past challenge. Though it was a difficult choice...

I couldn't help but pick his self drafted button up shirt made from an old sheet purchased at the thrift shop.
I mean, what a transformation! I didn't think I could sew a button up, let alone draft my own pattern. Though, after seeing all the amazing pieces on the Project Run and Play site, I felt super mom inspired & took it really REALLY slow when measuring and drawing each tiny piece. I admit, I haven't had the patience to draft a larger size!

Another reason I love this piece so much ? Because my little man looked so cute when I photographed him in it. I adore this photo of him. <3

I *almost* sold this shirt at our garage sale last month but snatched it back off the table& decided it needed to stay. With a new season of Project Run and Play off and running I'll be in my sewing room trying to out-do myself again

I would love for you to stop over and see!

A big thank you to Maegen for asking me to be here today.
I can't wait to see this little baby she's been cooking up!
