Throwback Thursday

I was going through my drafts and found this gem. I figured it was worth sharing, since it was one of the first times I had ever tried sewing anything for Mack. Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures. Having a DSLR makes an enormous difference (even with my limited photography skills)!

So after my sister-in-law Karen introduced me to MADE, I decided to try out the 90 minute shirt tutorial. It looked pretty easy, and we have a ton of Nathan's bright red Standard Plumbing Supply t-shirts sitting around so I wasn't worried about wasting the fabric if it totally failed.

It didn't totally fail.

But it did kind of fail.

It was definitely an unwearable garment. Luckily, it didn't completely scare me off of drafting my own patterns for sewing.

This silly little red shirt is tucked away in my scrap box. I'm thinking that maybe someday I'll shorten it a little more and sew a skirt onto it to make it a little dress.

And those red shirts? Yeah, we still have a lot. I used one of his sweatshirts in my Doctor Love look for Project Run and Play a few seasons ago.

Remember this from last week's throwback Thrusday?

"I don't care much for fish, but this one that Nathan caught is rather pretty."

Nathan informed me that he did not, in fact, catch this fish. The pictures were from his phone, and they were ones he had downloaded from the internet to use as a wallpaper.
I felt a little silly.

I miss this age. He had such squishy cheeks. And he always wanted to snuggle!

My primary class a million years ago. We lived in Tacoma. I'm third from the left on the top row. My best friend was Jenna, and she's furthest right on the bottom row, the one who is in shadows.

My beautiful friend Jeanette! She is so spunky! This was just a random time hanging out (I think at target) our senior year.

Nathan got a fish! He has always loved fishing and camping and hunting. His mom says that when he was little they would get home from camping and he would just cry and beg to go camping again.

This is me as a baby. We thought I looked quite a bit like Mack in this one.
