beautiful stitching!! I can't imagine how many hours/days you invested in this. I hope you have a girl sooner rather than later so this doesn't have to hang in the closet too long!!
I spent every spare moment of a week on it. Though I did go to a women's conference and was able to spend probably 6-10 uninterrupted hours on it during that.
Absolutely gorgeous! The skirt is perfect. I cannot believe you made this without a specific girl in mind. I thought for sure there was a niece or something :) And I love that adorable edging. I'm jealous of your new machine haha.
Oh.....the embroidery, the embroidery, the embroidery!! What a LOVELY entry to art inspiration week. I see why it was totally worth the time and effort involved...
The skirt on this dress is fabulous. I love how you used different colors and flowed them together. I may try this someday, as you have inspired me.
I think that's what Project Run and Play is all about...INSPIRATION and a place to share your inspiration. Thanks for sharing with us today. Deborah http://sewmuchtogive.blogspot.com
Wow... Just...wow. I love this piece, those brush strokes through the sky always enthralled me. Your embroidery work is simply a work of art in itself. I love that it's something you created with needle and thread, and that you don't think you could have done it on paper (although, I'm doubting your doubts...ha). I am so inspired by this....what a work of love.
Haha. Thanks for the compliment, but I really have no talent for drawing. I'm so glad you saw the brush strokes! It wasn't intentional at first, but once I got started I tried to do it on purpose.
WOW! You did such an AMAZING job on this dress! The picture came out PERFECT but the fact that you hand embroidered it is even more commendable. Congratulations on your win--WELL deserved!
Oh my goodness this is amazing! I want one in my size! I have always loved Starry Night, but now I can't even look at a Van Gogh without getting a little weepy after Vincent and the Doctor. The embroidery on that skirt turned out so perfectly. Everything about this dress is perfect!
So very cute!!!!! You're amazing for getting it done so fast. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I definitely neglected other responsibilities to work on it.
