Project Run and Play Review

It's time for Project Run and Play again!
I'm out of my mind with excitement, and I'm not the only one!
Starting on Monday we'll be hearing from a few other bloggers as they look back on their favorite Project Run and Play Creations.

Here's the Schedule:
Monday- Jo, Scary and Al from Shaffer Sisters
Tuesday- Ashley and Emily from francessuzanne
Wednesday- Mae from The Life of a Compulsive Crafter
Thursday- Ajaire from Call Ajaire
Friday- Courtney from Sweeter Than Cupcakes
Saturday- Me!

These ladies are all so talented and have made some really cute outfits. Seriously, go check out their blogs!

To give things a little kick start, I'll quickly share my least favorite Project Run and Play outfit.
The first thing I ever made for the sew-along group was a shirt for my niece. I drafted my own pattern, and had trouble with it the whole way through. The shirt didn't end up looking at all like I wanted it too. Alaina loved it, and I guess that's all that really matters in the end. Unfortunately, it only fit her for a few weeks before it was too tight.

Week 4 Favorites!

I can't believe it's over, and at the same time, I'm relieved. The last two weeks have been a balancing act of sewing and homework, and lots of feeling guilty! There were really some nice looks for this week, though not as many outfits for little boys as I was expecting. But I have no room to talk, seeing as I chose to sew a dress rather than something Mack could wear.

As usual, the winning look. These are so sweet! I adore the fabric choice, the piping and pintucks, and especially the spinny skirts!

I'm a sucker for plaid, so I just adore this little dress! There's also a cute pair of pants with matching plaid for brother.

A dress perfect for dancing, on a stunningly beautiful girl!

This is darling. It's the Sunshine Dress from Sewing in No Man's Land. I've been dying to make this dress. Isn't it just perfect?

Now this is just amazing. Four kids, and they are hardly wearing a stitch of clothing that wasn't handmade!

This is an amazing detail from a fantastic dress. FrancesSuzanne you have outdone yourselves!

Speechless

I am so amazed. I can hardly believe that I won the sew along. There were so many great projects! I figured I'd share a few of my favorites. (click on the pictures to go to their blog posts)

These are just a very few of the many fantastic designs inspired by artwork!

So excited for this week's theme, I'm almost done! Stay tuned for my "chevron" look!

If you are one of the designers and would like me to take down your picture, please email me and I will remove it promptly. (fosterramblings@gmail.com)

Project Run and Play Week 1

I did get it finished!
The "theme" for week one was essentially fabric cut on the bias. I couldn't think of a single thing to make for Mack. So I decided to make a shirt for Alaina. She was really excited about her shirt, and kept asking me if it was done every time she saw me.

Alaina comes up with the best poses!

Project Run and Play Sew Along

Needless to say, It's hard to get any sewing done when you don't actually have a working sewing machine. I am dying to participate in the sew-along for project run and play, and things aren't exactly working out. Here's what I started on for this week. Hopefully I'll get it finished soon so Alaina can actually wear it! She is super excited for it.
The layers will continue up quite a ways and I'll create an empire waist. I'm also planning to add a cap sleeve, and use the darker purple to make bias tape and use it for an edging around the neck and around the buttonhole loop in the back.
